In 1978-1986, Mr. Peikun Zhu served as assistant professor in plant virus research at Department of Biology of Fudan University, Shanghai, China. At the end of 1986, he visited the US, served as research fellow in Medicine School, University of Minnesota, and former senior scientist of AIU Biotechnology. In 1999-2001, he was a visiting research fellowship at Department Bioscience, Hongkong University. In 2001- 2003, he prepared to establish Shenzhen Bioroad Biotechnology Co., Ltd.. In April 2003, as chairman and chief scientist, he redistricted Shenzhen Bioroad Biotechnology Co., Ltd.. In July 2008, he established Shenzhen Bioroad Biological Chromosome Hybridization Institute, served as director and chief scientist. Mr. Peikun Zhu pioneered a number of immune-chemical measurement techniques, such as ELISA cellulose acetate membrane immune-electrophoresis techniques and ELISA test paper. He has published dozens of academic articles in “Science Bulletin” and other related journals. In 1983, he published the first monograph of immune enzyme technology in China – “Immunoenzyme techniques”. In 2008, he revised it and complied “Principle and Application of Immunoenzyme Techniques”. This book has won the first prize of outstanding scientific and technological books in the 22nd East China Science & Technology Press book fair. Mr. Peikun Zhu originated botanic chromosome hybridization techniques. He applied chromosome hybridization technology, opened the door of higher plants genetic modification and created series of new types of hybridized plants, such as pea-corn, wheat-corn, corn-rice, sesame-oilseed. He also issued academic articles such as “Discussion of Multi-gene Engineering”, “Exploration of Key Links of Higher Plants Hybridization”, “Research on Plant Genetic Transference Theory”, “The Third Approach for Higher Plants Chromosome Hybridization”. In Dec. 1996, he was recruited in the Dictionary of Overseas Chinese Celebrity.
